Osborne Partners Profile: Jason Rodnick, CFA

Jason Rodnick, CFA, is one of the investment analysts at Osborne Partners Capital Management. He is a native of Northern California, growing up in beautiful Petaluma, which, at the time, was known for its agricultural past rather than as a beer and wine destination. While he enjoyed the small-town life growing up, the excitement of a larger city beckoned. After high school, Jason moved to San Francisco to study economics at San Francisco State University.

Early in his career, Jason pursued accounting, going as far as enrolling in an intensive summer accounting program at Santa Clara University and passing all four parts of the CPA exam. While Jason enjoys accounting, he found being an accountant unfulfilling. Shortly after, he pivoted to investment research and began working as an analyst at Raub Brock Capital Management. He furthered his career by completing the rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst exam. After eight years at Raub Brock, Jason began looking for new opportunities and found his current role at Osborne Partners in late 2018.

At Osborne Partners, Jason is a member of the investment research and portfolio management team. He is responsible for generating new investment ideas, monitoring existing investments, and managing client accounts. Jason enjoys the intellectual challenge of investment research, the camaraderie with his colleagues, and helping clients meet their financial goals. Jason also specializes in making beautiful charts and creating inscrutable Excel spreadsheets.

Jason lives in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood with his wife and three young children. An interesting fact about Jason is that he met his wife via Bloomberg chat, and for that reason, the Bloomberg Terminal will always hold a special place in his heart. Jason enjoys traveling, spending time away from his kids, and watching Formula One in his free time.
